Papaya Skin & Wax ("we", "us") operates papayaskinandwax.com and the Instagram account @papayaskinandwax. This policy explains what we collect when you contact us, why, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

When you message us on Instagram, we receive and store the content of the messages you send us and the replies we send you, your Instagram account identifier and display name, the date and time of each message, and any details you choose to give us in conversation, such as your name, phone number, or which service you're asking about.

We do not collect your Instagram password, your follower list, your posts, or anything else from your Instagram account. We only see the conversation you start with us.

Automated replies

Messages sent to our Instagram account may be answered automatically by an AI assistant rather than a person. We tell you this at the start of any conversation, and you can ask for a human at any point — just say so and a real person will take over.

The assistant does not give medical or skincare advice. Anything involving a skin reaction, irritation, a medication, pregnancy, a complaint, or a request for a person is handed to our esthetician directly.

Why we collect it

• To answer your questions and help you book an appointment
• To remember previous conversations so you don't have to repeat yourself
• To send appointment confirmations, reminders, and aftercare information
• To improve how we respond to common questions

Marketing messages

We only send promotional messages to people who have explicitly agreed to receive them. Consent is never a condition of booking a service. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP or telling us, and we'll honour it permanently.

Who else sees it

Your messages pass through service providers we use to operate the studio: Meta delivers Instagram messages, Supabase stores our client and message records, n8n routes messages between systems, and OpenAI generates the assistant's replies.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

We keep conversation history for up to 24 months so we can give you continuity of care, then delete it. Appointment records are kept as long as required for our business records.

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time. Email PapayaSkinandWax@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request" and the Instagram handle or phone number you contacted us from. We'll delete your records within 30 days and confirm when it's done.

You can also revoke our access to your Instagram messages directly, at any time, from Instagram → Settings → Apps and websites.

Security

Client records are stored in an access-controlled database. Only the studio owner and the systems listed above can reach them. Conversation content is never used for advertising or shared for any purpose beyond running the studio.

Children

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has contacted us, email us and we'll delete the record.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
